If you're not from the south shore of MA, you'd probably say "Who is Ducker Dan?" Theis wonderful chickadee show he deserves a bit more recognition!
Dan Freeman lived in Duxbury, MA and carved during the '30s and '40s. He's known for his little duck and goose miniature decoys, songbird mountings like this, and a few small dioramas. As a young man, I knew some old gunners who knew him in their youth. This chickadee, and the other we are offering, are by far some of the best examples of Ducker Dan's work we've seen.
Excellent and original. Recently acquired from a home in Sandwich, MA.
