Measuring 36 1/4" long and 3 5/8" thick, this carving has a magnificent presence, carved with great skill and accuracy. Although signed and dated 1997,  we cannot decipher the carver's name, and believe it to be Russian (see additional photos). Overall, an expertly done carving that would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
 
Small amount of touch-up to crack in lower fin, where it had been stressed but never broken off.
