Massive Gus Wilson Scoter
 
Over the years we've owned many Wilson eiders and scoters; this is by far the largest we have ever seen. Early Monhegan style. The bird is just massive (measures 24 x 12!). It is in old in-use repaint. Its form, patina & surface, along with the mortised wood plugs & patches Wilson used during construction, give this bird quite a bit of character.
