A truly exquisite little bird mounted on a fungus from the Black Forest, c1900. This beautiful piece boasts one of the finest soft patina and surface we have seen in many years. The fluid form and wonderful bold colors, along with the quality of the carving make this the best Black Forest bird we've handled in a while.
 
Small touch-up to minute area on tip of bill, otherwise mint condition.
