Old Squaw Drake by Ralph Laurie (1883–1964; Hingham, MA)
 
This little bird exhibits great folk art form and is an early example for Laurie (prior to his ink stamp). The surface is extremely dry and has a deep, dark, and rich patina. In a strange way, the flaking on the bird actually seems to add to its character and appeal, and touts its age.
