Rare Long-tailed drake by Fred Wass (Addison, ME)

I have handled and known of quite a few of Fred's eiders, both drake & hen, over the years, but in all that time, this is the first long tail I have ever come across.

Excellent original paint with a bold, crisp paint pattern, and long inlet typical of Wass. This bird seems never to have seen the water, hence its great surface. A good addition to any Maine collection.

Measures 15.25" long; 8" high
